1 Litre of Tears

I am now trying to finish the last two episodes of 1 Litre of Tears. This Japanese drama is based on the book by Aya Kito. It’s all about a girl who was diagnosed with an incurable disease when she was 15. It’s a very inspiring yet sad story but worth watching for.

Aya Kitō suffered from spinocerebellar ataxia; it is a degenerative disease that cannot be cure. He lived life until at the age of 25. The story was based on the diary that Aya wrote until the time that she can no longer hold a pen. The story is a must to see and will definitely inspire you and appreciate life even more.

More Bad News

I’ve checked the currency awhile ago and the dollar to Philippines peso is going up once again. I have been following the news about that ferry that sank down too and everyday are more bad news about it. I called my parents last night and thank God storm frank never hit our city. Most places in Mindanao are a lot safer and always spare with this kind of calamities. Cagayan De Oro might experience flood but not as worse like in Luzon. We are surrounded with mountains and Mindanao still lush with trees that also helps absorption of water and soil erosion. I always feel sad to all the victims and hopefully everyone will lend a hand and help in kind or in cash.

The prices of food are now going up and it may sound scary but it’s happening too quickly. I just hope that my parents allowance will be enough and will go a long way. Life is hard and it's getting tougher and tougher. I have no idea how the poor families in the Philippines will manage life daily. I cannot imagine or put it into words. I hope God will

Doodles

I have been doodling during my free time. I am here playing my doodle pad once again while watching the boys playing their video game. My eldest was begging me to watch him play and win. His daddy bought him a new video game 3 days ago and his hooked to it that his to occupied on playing than reading his books. Mr. Goodbye

I watched the last 3 episodes of Mr. Goodbye drama this afternoon. I have been watching Japanese and Korean dramas lately and enjoyed every story so far. The Mr. Goodbye is a Korean drama about a man who grows up in the United States and becomes successful on his work field. He went to back to Korea to do some business and falls in love with a concierge from the hotel he is assigned to. It’s another love triangle stories but with a twist because he died at the end of the story. It’s a slow drama but every episode is worth to wait for. You should try and watch it sometimes.

We lived in the country and nothing much interesting around here. We pretty have everything in the nearest town from food, clothing and etc., Sometimes we go to the next town to shop or eat in restaurants. Everyday we have new establishments opening here and it’s nice to know that our city is slowly booming. I was checking the local yellow pages not long time ago and looking for new places to explore.

I was playing on the internet and found this local.com website, the site is pretty cool and very useful local search engine that are far better than the rest. Chiffon Cake

Tomorrow is my eldest son birthday but we’ve told him already that his birthday party will be on the next weekend. Hubby is working straight this month and everyone else are still waiting for their break. Anyway, I am going to bake a chiffon cake later tonight and cook some of his favorite food tomorrow. I told him that were going to have a cheese and chocolate fondue party on his birthday. His very excited and cannot wait for it. I don’t have presents yet but I’m hoping to get some any days soon. I received a call from my Ob-gyn the other day for my annual physical check-up. I guess, it‘s time to go and make another appointments. The clinic is pretty far from where I live now and it‘s very inconvenient for me. I need to Find a Doctor nearby and maybe another surgeon too. I need to go for my yearly mammogram too.

I want a Cat

I grew up with a cat in the house and I miss having them around. I’ve been asking for a cat since I got here in the US but unfortunately my hubby and eldest son are both allergic to a cat. I can have one but it will be an outdoor cat. I want a cat because there fuzzy, floppy, cute, and not a high maintenance compare to a dog. I still have my Ruffy of course, but I thought another pet in the house would be merrier. How I wish we have now a finished basement and maybe I can have a cat then. Anyway, I’ve been feeling lazy and down lately…probably, stress out and bored being stuck in the house. The weather here in Georgia is unbearable “too hot and humid”. Sardines

Sardines anyone? I used to hate this can food before because it stink and always giving me indigestion. But not anymore! It’s now one of my can food favorites. It still stinky and giving me bad indigestion though but I like it with my hot rice. I always add a bit of salt and spicy vinegar for more flavors. I often buy cans of it every time I go to the International market. My two boys never eat it except my little one. His so Filipino like me and probably will eat “ginamos” too if I have any. Anyway, I better look for some ginamos next time.

Shrimps

Just the way I like my shrimps “spicy and yummy“!!! I took advantage and bought pounds of shrimps when we went to the International market. It’s a lot cheaper and bigger too. I always love shrimps and I can eat them anytime of the day. The kids do not eat shrimps for the reasons that I don’t now. Oh well, who would say no to shrimps…it simply delectable and perfect for me.

I am going to make some shrimp tempura next time and shrimp scampi for a change. I better get back to work to avoid to troubles. Have a great afternoon ahead.

Swimming

My second doodle of today “hurry” …so cute. Anyway, I made it because the boys went swimming to their kiddie pool not long time ago. The water was still kind a cold because they’ve never stayed for a long time. My old pool looks crappy and I believe it have some hole or holes somewhere at the bottom. I am now thinking on getting another one and maybe a bit bigger too.

The kids had their fan and I just hope that their not going to ask again later to go swimming because it still raining “not hard though”. Joe is still home and feeling sick…I better get out now and finish my cooking.

Get any Sleeps Lately?

Having troubles in sleeping and getting 8 hours sleep a day seems impossible? If yes! Then you’re probably one of the millions who suffer from it. I never had a goodnight sleep for almost 10 years now since I got married and have children’s. But popping sleeping pills was not the answer either.

Have you heard about these white noise machine before? I have been using this machine for youngest son since his a baby because it helps and the soothing sounds of a heartbeats, rainforest animals, ocean waves, running stream and others made him calm down and its more easier for him to go to sleep compare to my eldest son.

I was cleaning his closet lately and found his white noise machine and decided to use it once again because Joe went to a graveyard shift and he have trouble sleeping on the day time. He told me that it helps block the nuisance sounds and he likes it a lot. So guys, why no try this machine and experience the soothing and calming sounds that it have. Doodle for Today

I feel better now and my internet connection was brought up to the next level “still slow but better”…will see how long I can stand it. I was playing with the doodle pad again and here is my doodle for today. I told my youngest son that it was him but he asked me why his eye balls are looking on top ‘hahhahaha’. Anyway, it’s supposed to be raining today but unfortunately “none” even a drop!

I set-up the kiddy pool yesterday and filled it up with water early this morning. I just hope that it will get a bit warmer later tonight and maybe I can let the kids go swimming once again. I will see all later folks.

Red Rose

I had my rose garden for years now and my dear hubby gave it to me. He promised a rose garden before we got married because he knew that I love flowers. I have few varieties of roses and their all gorgeous and now flowering like crazy. I have red rose that looks like a plastic one, its color is so deep red like dark blood. I took some photos and I am going to resize and upload some to post here next time. I have pink roses that smell like honey. I love my rose garden and I enjoy them very much. I am planning to add more varieties in my collections this year and hopefully will find some rear one too. Wish me luck!

Hopia

Hopia is probably one of my favorite’s snacks. I could eat it anytime of the day. I bought boxes of hopia when I was in the Philippines and bought extra at the airport when I flew back here in the USA. I can buy some at the Pinoy store but it’s too expensive and I cannot swallow one for guilt “hahahahha”. I am trying to learn how to make hopia and will see the results. I like to learn how to bake or cook all my favorites to save money and I don’t have to drive down to store every time my craving struck. Anyway, its better that way and I can make a bunch and share some too.

Belated Birthday To Our Tatay

I was able to get hold with my father not long time ago and thank goodness we were able to greet him a happy birthday. He told me that he had a great day and some old friends went to celebrate with him. How I wish to be there but unfortunately it’s impossible, maybe next time and we wish him a lot of birthday’s to come, good health and happiness always and that goes to my mother also.

Ruff Was Bad

Ruff was very bad today! He dropped his hard ball to my toes, chewed the whole toilet tissue and spread all over the carpet floor, dug some of flowers, chased my chickens and brought me a huge rotting bark inside the house. I was so upset and mad at him that I my blood pressure went up like a missile fixing to explode in the air.

Joe was laughing so hard at me that I would like to throw him a punch or smack hard on the head. I was so upset of Ruff and I hope he will never do it anymore ever again. My goodness! My headache is killing me now. I better finish this last talk and go to bed.
